Last night I went to see the incredible Moulin Rouge Musical with some of my old team (and some of my closest friends). What a show! It was full of sparkles – The set, lighting, music, vocals…just magic.

I’d seen the film years ago and though of “Come What May” as a romantic love song. But last night, I heard it differently. “I will love you until the end of time” felt less about couples and more about love in all its forms – the deep relationships we build over years, sometimes decades, and how they stay with us even as life changes.

Being there with my old team reminded me of this. We shared so much together – the stories, secrets, laughter, tears, and special moments that shaped who we are today. Coming away from that was hard. I left the job, the business, the routine behind – but never the love.

You can take the girl out of the team, but you can’t take the team out of the girl. The years too long and the bond too strong 😉

They remembered this when I turned up with a bag full of Moulin Rouge style hats for the occasion… just like the props and fun things we had in team meetings. Old habits and all that…(I’m still laughing at the fact that I told them loads of people would be dressed up and we didn’t see a single person dressed up!)

Life is full of change. Teams shift, relationships change or dissolve. People move in and out of our everyday lives. But the love doesn’t vanish just because the circumstances does. The bond is still there (often stronger), even if the people aren’t always physically there. You know you can call on them at any point and you would be there for each other unconditionally.

And so, as the lyrics say… No mountain too high, no river too wide, sing out this song and I’ll be there by your side. Storm clouds may gather, and stars may collide, but I love you until the end of time.
